Brandy von Kaenel is principal and head designer for von k design studios llc.
Her most recent projects include renovation work on a historic condo in a residential Denver neighborhood, various interior remodel projects and new custom home construction projects in Denver, CO in collaboration with local builders. One recent project was highlighted in the Parade of Homes Hilltop Home Tour. Currently she is focusing on several residential renovation and historic projects in Denver, CO.
As a believer in sustainable design, historic preservation and community projects, she also collaborated on the design of a sustainable volunteer secondary school project in Basa, Nepal, as a part of the Denver Chapter of Architecture for Humanity design team in 2011.
In addition, she lead a historic tour as part of Doors Open Denver’s event “Denver Redo” in 2010 and published an essay titled "RiNo: From Then to Now" was a part of a publication in the Spring 2011 Vol. 28 University of Colorado Denver's Historical Studies Journal.
Brandy von Kaenel has over thirteen years experience in interior and architectural design, including assisted living and senior housing, education, high-end residential, light commercial and multi-family projects. Brandy earned her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design at Colorado State University and completed her dual Masters of Architecture and Masters of Urban Design as well as a Certificate in Historic Preservation at the University of Colorado, Denver. She is a Certified Designer through the National Council of Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) and a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) BD + C Accredited Professional. She is involved in her local design professional affiliations such as Associate AIA, ASID and USGBC.
